About aredel.com
aredel.com is a hands-on engineering site about software quality. Everything published here starts from a real problem found in a real repository: a failing case first, then the fix, then the reusable pattern. Three themes run through the whole site.
Complex testing problems
Flaky end-to-end suites, untestable legacy code, validation logic spread across layers, production-only failures — the kind of testing problems that resist generic advice. The testing section documents systematic ways to take them apart: reproducing the failure deterministically, isolating the layer under test, and turning one-off debugging into regression coverage that stays green.
Legacy repositories
Old code that earns its keep but resists change: thousands of files, dead includes, duplicated trees, mixed languages, no tests. The approach used across this site is incremental modernization — measure first, carve out seams, migrate file by file with automated checks guarding every step, and delete what is dead only after proving nothing references it. The development section shows the method applied to live repositories, including legacy test porting and legacy application testing and support.
Test automation frameworks
Off-the-shelf frameworks rot when they do not match how a team actually works. This site builds its tooling in the open: link checkers, sitemap validators, lint gates, translation pipelines — small reviewed scripts composed into frameworks that run on every commit. If a project needs testing infrastructure rather than testing advice, that is the model: start from how the team really works, automate the boring verifications first, and grow the framework only where it pays for itself.
